Singapore increases Melbourne frequency

Singapore increases Melbourne frequency
By admin

Singapore Airlines yesterday began operating a fourth daily service between Melbourne and Singapore as Victorian officials touted the airport’s lack of curfew as a major benefit for the city.

The additional service will provide more flexibility and choice, Melbourne Airport chief executive Chris Woodruff said.

“The service will not only increase capacity but also connectivity between Victoria and key markets in Asia and Europe through Singapore Airline’s extensive global network,” he said.

He also cited the lack of curfew as a “key operational advantage” which allows an additional two million passengers to pass through the airport.

Melbourne was investing billions of dollars in upgrading the airport as it aims to “become Australia’s premier international aviation gateway”, Woodruff said.
