Hotel Review: Atlantis The Royal – Stunning in every sense

Hotel Review: Atlantis The Royal – Stunning in every sense
Edited by Travel Weekly

Atlantis Dubai invited Travel Weekly to experience the newly launched luxury resort, Atlantis The Royal, as well as Dubai’s first and ultimate entertainment resort, Atlantis The Palm.

The experiences, restaurants and beach clubs at both resorts made up a series of meticulously crafted luxury moments for which Dubai is renowned. From fire-breathing fountains to culinary masterpieces, every detail was a brushstroke in this opulent tapestry of travel.

    Atlantis the royal

    Look & Feel

    Atlantis The Royal.

The luxurious, water-inspired Atlantis The Royal has been designed by the world’s leading designers, architects and artists. The halls of the hotel are filled with artistic moments and designer boutiques such as Louis Vuitton, Valentino and Dolce & Gabbana.

As well as the predominant theme of water and water-based moments, Louis Vuitton’s ‘Vivienne’ characters can be spotted throughout the resort. This activation is part of the resort’s one-year anniversary celebration, having only opened their doors in January 2023.

Every evening, from 7pm, the resort’s Skyblaze fountain is the setting of a theatrical display of water and fire, with sunken seating areas enveloped by the soothing sounds of water. Guests gather each evening to watch water shoot high into the air to the sound of music.

    Rooms

    Palmscape Penthouse Bedroom.

The view of Palm Island and the Dubai skyline is incredible. The rooms are a spectacular blend of opulence and comfort, with a dazzling orchestration of gold and marble.

    Royal Mansion Pool.

Atlantis The Royal staff place gifts each time they turn down a room, offering everything from room spray to chocolates and sweets. The touches did not go unnoticed.

    Dining

Breakfast at Gastronomy offered a buffet that exceeded expectations with its quality and variety, affirming that Atlantis does not compromise on luxury. Anything you could possibly imagine was on display to create your ultimate breakfast fantasy.

    Ariana’s Persian Kitchen.

Ariana’s Persian Kitchen was nothing short of a warm embrace. The excitement of our host for us to try Persian cuisine was the cherry on the top of a rich array of hot and cold mezze. The outdoor setting was beautiful with pink velvet and turquoise throughout. The bathroom design also impressed with the same shade of pink and style – very instagrammable.

La Mar also served up a fiesta of flavours with a vibrant ceviche accompanied by a Pisco Sour Royal, embellished with a touch of gold leaf – a nod to Dubai’s opulence. From the balcony you have a bird’s-eye view of the Skyblaze fountain show. The feast concluded with a life-changing chocolate tart.

    La Mar.

Dubai’s newest hotspot, Ling Ling was absolutely pulsating, its vibrant energy encapsulating the dynamic spirit of the city. The dark, sultry decor provided the perfect backdrop for sipping delicious cocktails while soaking in the stunning views.

    Facilities

The Royal Lounge is an all-inclusive add-on that entitles you to breakfast, free flowing champagne, afternoon tea and evening cocktails with canapes. The lounge has the feel of an exclusive club which guests can use as their base throughout their stay.

Cloud 22 Beach Club is an incredible rooftop bar and infinity pool looking out at Palm Island and the Dubai skyline. The Beach Club has collaborated with Dolce & Gabbana as part of The Royal’s one-year anniversary, elevating it to an extremely high-end and exclusive feel.

As part of the Dolce & Gabbana collaboration, the venue is adorned with a bespoke blue and white print. Many guests were seen to be wearing the print, as matching swimwear and resort wear is available to buy from the Dolce & Gabbana store downstairs.

The atmosphere was alive with pulsing music from the DJ and the caviar bruschetta was the perfect luxurious snack to complete the scene.

Nobu by the Beach is a world first. The beautifully designed adults-only resort provides a serene reprieve offering an extensive cocktail list, iced lemon shots and mini ice cream cake bites by the pool. Nobu by the Beach restaurant by the pool had a cool, modern vibe which provided the perfect backdrop for enjoying black cod and fresh yellowfin tuna.

    Final verdict

The Atlantis resorts in Dubai are a fusion of fantasy and reality, where every corner offers a new delight. From gourmet dining to relaxing spas and vibrant nightlife, the experiences are as diverse as they are luxurious. Atlantis isn’t just a stay – it’s a journey into a world of opulence and wonder, meticulously crafted to ensure that every guest finds their slice of paradise.

Atlantis, The Royal: 10/10 for adults looking for the ultimate luxurious experience in Dubai.

Stay tuned for our review of Atlantis The Palm next week!
