AIME targets business travel sector
By admin

The Asia-Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo (AIME) has signed strategic partnerships with the Australian Federation for Travel Agents (AFTA) and technology firm Sabre Pacific in a bid to build its presence in the business travel sector.

The partnerships are “crucial” to the growth of AIME, according to exhibition director Jacqui Timmins.

“These strategic partnerships with AFTA and Sabre Pacific demonstrate to our audience and peers the importance of business travel to the business events arena,” she said.

“We understand how vital it is for us to continue to build the presence of business travel product at AIME, as well as support the travel agents and providers of Australia by affording exposure to our international Hosted Buyer Program.”

AFTA chief executive, Jayson Westbury, said the new partnership was timely as he predicted a strong 12 months for the business travel industry.

“AFTA is delighted to be working with AIME this year as a strategic partner, a year in which incentives, meetings and events travel should be trending strongly and the role of travel agents becomes even more relevant and important,” he said.

AFTA will also unveil the AFTA Travel Accreditation Scheme (ATAS) to AIME attendees ahead of its April start date and will sponsor a new business travel stand award which will launch at AIME this year.

Meanwhile, Sabre will showcase its TripCase trip management app in the Innovation Zone, of which it is the sole sponsor.
