Revamped Wailoaloa Beach hotel opens as Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa
Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa is open and ready for bookings after the first phase of a multi-million-dollar transformation.
Part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ premium collection, the transformation has seen the completion of 106 guestrooms showcasing contemporary interiors reflective of the premium Crowne Plaza brand and is a first for the group in the South Pacific.
Located in Nadi Bay, along Wailoaloa Beach, just 5km from Nadi International Airport, the revamped property is the latest resort to open in Fiji’s vibrant tourism economy. Formerly known as Pullman Nadi Bay, the transformation was led by the interior design firm P49 DEESIGN, which had previously worked on the Kimpton Kitalay Samui in Thailand.
The resort will eventually feature 324 premium guestrooms and suites, including the addition of brand-new resort wings which will be home to the stylish two-bedroom family rooms and oceanfront King Suites. The resort’s transformation will also include a day spa with six double treatment rooms, seven swimming pools, ten restaurants and bars, including a night club, a beach club with infinity pool and a whisky bar.
Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa offers guests an all-inclusive destination for their next holiday or business trip. A standout for the meetings and events market will be the new, purpose-built 900-seat Convention Centre that will complement the hotel’s existing conferencing space.
“With growing visitor arrivals into Fiji – around half of them coming from Australia – this is the perfect time to be ushering in a new era of resort accommodation with the opening of Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa,” its General Manager, Shaun Parsons, said.
“The first phase of the hotel’s redesign has been completed and we are well on our way to bringing the vision of creating a world-class dining, leisure and business resort to life. We have no shortage of exciting developments to unveil, including our state-of-the-art Convention Centre, our new two-bedroom family rooms and exceptional culinary experiences which will firmly cement us not only as Fiji’s leading resort, but as a destination in its own right,” he said.
Guestrooms
The first phase of the transformation has seen the completion of 106 guestrooms which are bookable now, showcasing contemporary interiors reflective of the premium Crowne Plaza brand. A further 130 guestrooms will open from mid-2024 onwards, with the final 88 guestrooms and suites ready by the end of the year. This includes all-new accommodation offerings with 66 brand-new two-bedroom family rooms and 16 Oceanfront King Suites – set to be the hotel’s crowning jewels.
Dining
With a total of 10 restaurants and bars as well as in-room dining, the culinary offering at Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa will deliver an extensive range of options, under the guidance of Director of Culinary, Ian Johnston Lovie. Four dining outlets are currently fully operational including Harvest, an all-day restaurant offering daily buffet breakfast and a la carte dinner, Bean Bar Café for premium coffees and fresh pastries, The Lobby Lounge and the Breeze Swim-Up Bar, offering lunches and drinks.
The second phase of the opening – from mid-2024 onwards – will see the launch of an additional four dining outlets and bars including the much-anticipated 17.78 Whisky Bar, La Bottega Italian restaurant, Latitude Bar & Lounge nightclub and cocktail bar, and the Azura Pool Bar & Kitchen. A Pan Asian restaurant offering the artistry of Asian culinary traditions will be opened in the final stage of the redesign, as well as the Urban Sugar Beach Club, expected to open by August.
Meetings and Events
For conferences and events, Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa will offer six meeting rooms, and a total capacity of 16,576sq’ when fully completed. Three meeting and event spaces are fully operational already which can cater for executive meetings through to larger events. Boasting high performance technology including high-speed internet connection, they offer a bright and welcoming colour palette and functional design elements.
A purpose-built, 900-seat theatre style, state-of-the-art Convention Centre will be completed towards the end of the year. Easily accessible from Nadi International Airport, it is set to be a standout for the meetings and events market. At 925sqm, the unique space will be able to deliver world-class conferences and exhibitions.
Health and Wellness
When fully completed, Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa will boast seven swimming pools. Three pools are currently operational including the Childrens Pool, Family Pool and Adults Pool. Guests can also look forward to a contemporary retail precinct with leading outlets and designer stockists, plus a dedicated kids retreat – the Tutuvalu Kids Club – from mid-2024. The resort’s Mareqeti Spa – offering a range of indulgent facials and massage treatments including the traditional Fijian Bobo Massage – and the Fitness Centre are both open, but in temporary settings while their new locations are being finalised.
Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa is the first hotel in IHG Hotels & Resorts’ premium collection to open in Fiji and joins InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Six Senses Fiji, Holiday Inn Suva and Grand Pacific Hotel Suva.
