    Travel Weekly is thrilled to announce a new team at the helm of Australia’s No.1 travel trade title. 

    Highly experienced editor and journalist Grant Jones has been appointed editor, award-winning B2B journalist Sofia Geraghty has been appointed deputy editor and Zach Havard has been promoted to features editor and social media manager.

    The team will be led by General Manager and Publisher Hoda Alzubaidi, Travel Weekly Editor at Large Nancy Hromin and Partnerships and Marketing Manager, Christina Peterson. 

    “Readers can expect a deeper dive and more comprehensive coverage of all the issues that affect the travel industry” Hoda said. 

    “Grant, Sofia and Zach bring a combined wealth of experience across all aspects of journalist and digital media. 

    “Travel Weekly will continue to be the leader of news and features for the travel trade and will be addressing subjects with more in-depth coverage than ever before,” Hoda said.

    Grant brings to Travel Weekly decades of news and features experience in TV, radio, magazines and newspapers across a varied career in Melbourne, Sydney, Hong Kong and London. 

    “As both domestic and international travel hits full throttle, we will continue to cover the most up-to-date issues of the day,” Grant said. 

    “But we also want to bring to the attention of our readers the best ideas in travel, intriguing places plus the most exciting news stories. We will also keep you informed about all the most-important appointments that make the travel industry so dynamic.” 

    Nancy Hromin said Travel Weekly continues to lead from the front.

    Travel Weekly goes from strength to strength with new hires and continues to cement its position as most read publication in the industry,” she said. “Australian page views for the 2024 year have click over 650,000! That’s nearly 30% more traffic than our nearest competitor in the same period, meaning the industry is seeking out our news first.” 

    The whole team will soon gather for TravelDAZE in Cairns, Australia’s leading travel forum for the most influential minds in the industry.

    Prior to his appointment, Grant was associate editor of travel publications that includes domestic tourism and cruising. Grant was also the launch editor of a registered clubs’ industry publication and is a former food editor, chief features subeditor and travel writer for The Daily Telegraph. In addition, he has worked as a senior producer in current affairs at both Nine and Seven networks.  Grant is a mad Sydney Swans fan and an official Ambassador of the team.   

    Sofia Geraghty Deputy Editor 

    Sofia is an award-winning B2B journalist with experience in investigative journalism and TV presenting. She worked as a TV presenter within financial services in the UK before taking the plunge and moving to Sydney to work on sister publication B&T. She is passionate about equality and was awarded an industry-wide broadcast media award for her work in promoting diversity within the insurance industry. You may have recently seen her present our Travel Weekly Women In Travel Awards. A lover of solo travel, places she has visited alone include Tokyo, New York, Vienna and Miami.  

    Zach Havard Features Editor, social media manager 

    Zach has been part of our team for the last year and works as both a reporter and social media manager. Among his other talents is as producer of our Travel Weekly TV series. Before kicking off his journey in travel writing, Zach interned as a sports reporter and wrote for various electronic music magazines while working in a surfboard factory. If he’s not enjoying a cold beer on a famil, you’ll likely find him cheering on the Cronulla Sharks or chasing waves along the coast.
