JTG confirms Helloworld-Amex co-branding deal

By admin

Helloworld agents will be able to trade as a “member of Helloworld American Express” under a new master licence agreement between Jetset Travelworld Group (JTG) and the global brand.

Both branded and associate members will be able to benefit from the new co-branding agreement which JTG head of strategic partnerships, Mike Thompson, described as “very positive news” for the new retail brand.

“The continuation of the relationship with American Express will be an important contributor to the success of those agents who choose to adopt the American Express co-branding and other opportunities that come along with that,” he said.

“American Express and Travelscene have had a longstanding relationship for more than 10 years, and we look forward to building even closer alliances going forward.”

Thompson reported a good response to Helloworld from both agents and suppliers, but was confident this new deal would enhance its appeal.

“Following the announcement of this agreement with American Express, we expect that there will be further demand for co-branding opportunities, as it indicates important synergies between our businesses,” he said.

Meanwhile, Lizzie Massey, vice president and general manager American Express Travel Partner Network, described the new deal as an extension of the existing relationship between the two parties.

“The strategy behind the helloworld brand is something we are very excited to be a part of and will provide a valuable platform for us to broaden our relationships in the Australian market," she said.

JTG chief executive Rob Gurney said that broadening the scope of the co-branding deal would offer agents additional advantages.

“But there is a bit of work in front of us just in terms of communicating the benefits,” he admitted.
