Travel Counsellors say “I love you” to jobs

With Valentine’s Day usually the domain of loved up couples, Travel Counsellors agents are busy professing the love they have for their job instead.

A recent agent survey revealed that 93% of Travel Counsellors agreed with the statement ‘I love my job’, proving the company’s agents really do love their work.

But how is it that these agents love their jobs so much? Surely no one loves their job that much?!

The survey delved into the key benefits of running a business as part of the company, and the results highlighted some of the reasons behind their high levels of job satisfaction.

These included 89% enjoying the way their job fits in with their lifestyle, 73% identifying a supportive head office as a major benefit, and 67% loving being part of a company that puts the customer first.

The survey also revealed how agents benefit from the technology developed by the company, which gives them the ability to package bespoke itineraries for their customers.

In fact 35% of agents say their earnings have improved as a direct result of using the new Quote and Book function within the company’s Phenix packaging system.

Brisbane-based Travel Counsellor Hayley Voll said becoming a Travel Counsellors agent was the best thing she could have done for herself.

“I have the flexibility of working around my home life, enabling me to be there for the little things like picking up my children from school and helping with homework,” she said.

“But also allowing me to build up a successful career and business in an industry I love, always knowing I have the back-up and support of a great company behind me. I know it sounds like a cliché, but I really do love my job.”

Travel Counsellors Australia GM, Tracy Parkinson also commented on the survey, adding that the results reflect how they focus on agents building strong businesses.

“These survey results reflect how we focus on empowering our agents to build successful businesses by providing them with the support, tools and technology to deliver a very special type of personal service to their customers,” Parkinson said.

“They also have the freedom and flexibility that running a home-based business brings, with the survey revealing 75% of our agents reporting that their work/life balance has improved since joining Travel Counsellors. With all these benefits it’s no wonder they love their work.”
