New Great Ocean Road Resort appointments keep it going in the right direction

Great Ocean Road Resort has made two new appointments to bolster their team heading into the final summer month of the season.

Dana Broekhuizen has been given a new role as business development manager – business events for the property, alongside the newly opened Sunnymead Hotel in Aireys Inlet.

Broekhuizen steps into the new position after moving on from roles with business events Geelong and Great Ocean Road regional tourism, facilitating the Victorian state government’s regional recovery support fund to support the local region.

With her, she brings over a decade of experience in managing events and incentives both domestically and internationally. In her new role, she is responsible for creating and developing new business for the portfolio.

The Great Ocean Road Resort property is complemented by Anglesea Riverside Motel nearby, as well as Sunnymead Hotel’s addition to the group in December and an additional meeting space is being added to the collection in the near future.

Also joining the team recently as the new Executive Chef is Adam Cooke who brings 12 years of experience working across fine dining, resort and hotel restaurants abroad and his home country in the UK.

Cooke will manage the conference food and beverage offerings, including evolving the existing Indigenous-inspired dishes and offering the option to tailor bespoke menus for events.
