Silversea offers new pricing model as ocean sailing returns Down Under
Silversea’s Silver Muse arrived in Fremantle on Saturday 10 December, marking Silversea’s return to ocean sailing in Australian waters.
While Silversea has operated a season in the Australian Kimberley region aboard its expedition ship Silver Explorer, Silver Muse’s arrival marks the return of ocean cruising in the Asia Pacific region, including Australia after more than 1,000 days.
“Silver Muse is our first ocean liner in the Asia-Pacific seas in more than 1,000 days. It is so rewarding after such a long wait,” Adam Radwanski, Silversea’s managing director for the Asia Pacific, said.
Guests embarked on an 18-day voyage on board Silver Muse from Singapore to Sydney last Saturday 2 December, and have already enjoyed relaxing days at sea as well as time exploring Bali’s Lombok and Benoa.
The remaining ports of call include Fremantle, Busselton, and Albany.
Silver Muse aims to balance small-ship intimacy and all-suite accommodation with its capacity for 596 guests and 411 crew.
Joining Silver Muse in Australia from the Silversea fleet is Silver Whisper, who will arrive in December, followed by Silver Shadow who arrives in Sydney in January to commence the World Cruise 2023–the first time a Silversea World Cruise has departed from any Australian city.
Pricing model
Silversea Cruises has enhanced its pricing structure with a ‘prepaid’ option for the wave period, offering up to 20 per cent savings on selected port-to-port voyages.
Travellers will save between 10 per cent and 20 per cent on new bookings made between December 12, 2022, and February 28, 2023—when paying the non-refundable cruise fare in full within five days. Silversea’s wave promotion comprises an extensive door-to-door all-inclusive offering with a reduced deposit of 15 per cent, port-to-port all-inclusive fares for increased flexibility, and new prepaid port-to-port all-inclusive fares for even greater savings.
“Silversea continues to innovate in the ultra-luxury cruise market, introducing a unique ‘prepaid’ pricing model for port-to-port voyages to diversify guests’ options during the wave period,” Roberto Verdino, Silversea’s SVP of revenue management, said.
“Offering guests flexibility, convenience, and value, this exclusive proposition, designed to inspire travellers during the upcoming wave period, will provide our valued trade partners with an unprecedented opportunity to sell our port-to-port voyages to more clients—especially new-to-brand travellers who wish to experience Silversea’s distinctive take on luxury for the first time.”
The limited-time port-to-port prepaid offer applies to 226 ocean and expedition voyages aboard eight of Silversea’s ships, including sailings to all seven continents. Guests can enjoy exceptional value on the following highlight voyages, among Silversea’s port-to-port offering:
- London (Greenwich) to Reyjavik: 7-20 May, 2023
- Seward (Anchorage, Alaska) to Vancouver: 11-18 May, 2023
- Southampton to Copenhagen: 31 May-14 June, 2023
Silversea’s port-to-port offering, designed to provide travellers with greater flexibility, includes the customary onboard service and icons of luxury known at the cruise line.
