Norwegian extends cruise suspension

Norwegian extends cruise suspension

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) has announced an extension of its previously announced suspension of global cruise voyages.

The previous suspension included all voyages on Norwegian Cruise Line embarking between 1 January to 28 February and select voyages in March 2021, and all voyages on Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises embarking between 1 January to 31 March.

However, the suspension now includes all voyages by the three cruise lines embarking through to 30 April 2021.

It comes as NCLH continues to work through its return-to-service plan to meet the requirements of the Framework for Conditional Sailing Order issued by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“The company will continue to work in tandem with global government and public health authorities, and its Healthy Sail Panel expert advisors, to take all necessary measures to protect its guests, crew and the communities visited,” NCLH said in a statement.

The move by NCLH comes not long after rival Royal Caribbean Group extended its suspension of cruising on certain trips, with some unable to return to sailing until May.
