Wholesaler launches flexible European coach-touring brand

Hallstatt, traditional wooden village on a lake in Alps mountains, Austria, is UNESCO World Culture Heritage Site

Sun Island Tours has kicked off 2020 with the unveiling of a European coach-touring offer, Touropa.

Launched at a company event last night, Touropa combines the “convenience of escorted tours” and the “independence of FIT” by giving travellers access to thousands of departures across Europe, the ability to pause and play itineraries, and guaranteed departures on all tours.

“There has long been a major gap in the industry where the needs and demands for customisable coach-touring options were not met,” Sun Island Tours general manager John Polyviou said.

“Now, we have the perfect solution.”

Touropa forms a new initiative between Mediterranean travel specialist Sun Island Tours and Europamundo Vacations, Europe’s largest coach tour operator.

With access to more than 77,000 departures, travellers can design their itineraries according to their specific needs, and even change it up during the tour. Travellers can start or stop their tour on any day or location on itineraries.

When booking a circular tour, travellers can also opt to begin at any point along the tour.

There is also the opportunity to spend more time exploring a destination – travellers can “press pause” at any point in journey before continuing their itinerary on the next scheduled departure date.

“The flexibility to chop and change itineraries to suit the traveller instead of fitting them in with fixed touring schedules will no doubt be a game-changer for our agents and travellers,” Polyviou said.

Touropa’s user-friendly website allows browsers to easily and quickly narrow down their search for tours using filter functions for destinations, duration and price. Further tailoring needs can then be added, priced, finalised and booked – all within a few minutes.

Agents should note that all accommodation options with Touropa range between three and four stars, and while all tours are English speaking, other languages are available as well including Spanish, Russian and Arabic.

A special Indian line of tours is also available for travellers requiring daily Indian meals, Sun Island Tours advised.

Agent are advised that while Touropa is separate to Sun Island Tours’ existing product offering, it also complements it and is most suited to budget-conscious and semi-FIT travellers.
