JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts has expanded its luxury portfolio with the opening of its first resort in India, the JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa in the hill station of Mussoorie, at the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan ranges, also known as the Queen of the Hills.

“Each year, thousands of travellers pass through the picturesque hill station of Mussoorie to experience its temples, gardens, hiking trails and natural falls and we are thrilled to celebrate that rich history and culture with our guests," JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, vice president and global brand manager, Mitzi Gaskins.

All 115- guestrooms feature private balconies to allow guests to take in the surrounding vistas. The family-friendly resort also features The Den – an entertainment center and kid’s club spanning some 12,000 square feet to include a two-lane bowling alley, billiard and pool tables, gaming consoles, library, nap areas and a market featuring food and beverages.

The hotel also holds one of the largest meeting spaces in the city with 3,300 total square feet across the Grand Orchard Ballroom, three break-out rooms and a spacious pre-function area. An on-site events team is also available for use.

“The JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa, marks a major milestone for Mussoorie, one of the most stunning and serene parts of the Himalayas,” JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa, general manager, Chandrashekhar Joshi said. 

Guests will be able to choose from 5 speciality restaurants within the resort and also houses the Cedar Spa by L'Occitane.

The hotel is located 60 kilometers from the nearest airport in Dehradun.

“The opening of the first JW Marriott resort in India is undoubtedly a milestone for the JW Marriott brand and Marriott International at large,” Marriott International area vice president South Asia, Rajeev Menon said.
