Webjet enters deals arena with "exclusive" offering
By admin

The launch of Webjet Exclusives will see the online retailer offer consumers a range of directly-contracted travel deals that it claims sets it apart from other players already operating in the space.

The company first announced the new venture at its half year briefing, when it named travel executive Paul Ryan, formerly of Flight Centre and Scoopon, as the man who would drive it.

The deals will include hotels, resorts, land and air packages, tours and cruises across a range of international and domestic destinations.

They will often include ”valuable inclusions” at no additional cost, according to managing director John Guscic.

“One of the key differentiators from other deal sites is that all offers featured on Webjet Exclusives are exclusively created, negotiated with suppliers and are not available on other websites,” he said.

Each purchase will come with a 21-day money back guarantee with “no questions asked” –  a proposition which Webjet described as “powerful and unique”.

The extension of its Australian business is the latest in a series of changes which have seen the retailer take on bricks and mortar agencies in the package market, acquire Zuji and ramp up its hotels business.

The company recently reconfirmed its flat market guidance released in November of an EBITDA of $21.5 million.

The figure, marginally down on the normalised result of $21.6m in 2013, takes into account “development and transformation” costs of $3m, according to Webjet.
