Aussie arrivals to NZ on decline

Australian arrivals to New Zealand fell 1.3% in December with holiday traffic down 3%.

Official government figures show 159,376 Aussies crossed the Tasman during the month, 59,000 of them on holiday.

Year end arrivals from Australia fell 0.1% to 1.15 million with holiday arrivals tumbling 5% to 433,000.

Total stay days hit 12.15 million with Aussies staying an average of 10.5 days.
