Virgin’s new flexible fare structure ‘Fares For You’

Virgin’s new flexible fare structure ‘Fares For You’

Virgin Australia will shake up its airfare offering, giving travellers more options and flexibility across nine different fares when booking a domestic or international flight with the airline.

Virgin’s Fares For You will become effective 7 September, with fares named Getaway, Elevate, Freedom, Go and Go Plus providing different levels of flexibility, and entitlement to things like checked baggage and seat selection.

The move is designed to give passengers “greater control over various product inclusions in their fare”, for domestic and international flights.

The airline said guests will continue to experience the award-winning service that is synonymous with the brand, but will have greater control over inclusions in their fare.

Fares For You will replace the existing fare structure, offering a total of nine fare brands across our entire domestic and international routes for sale to your customers.

So just what are the fares and what do they include?

Economy fare types will include:

Getaway Fare

Lowest domestic fare guests who know exactly when they want to fly.

Elevate Fare

(Domestic and Long-Haul only). Both value and flexibility, with options to explore if guests’ plans change.

Freedom Fare

Full flexibility for guests who might have a last-minute change of plan.

Two additional Economy fare types will be available for trans-Tasman and Short Haul International and flights:

Go Fare

For trans-Tasman and Short Haul International and flights, guests with locked in plans who don’t need to check in baggage.

Go Plus Fare

For trans-Tasman and Short Haul International and flights, guests who want great value, checked baggage, and would rather save on extras they may not need.

Business and Premium Economy fare types will include:

Premium Saver Fare

For guests who want an outstanding experience for superb value.

Premium Fare

For guests who want flexibility.

Business Saver Fare

For guests who want exceptional style and refined comfort for superb value.

Business Fare

For guests who prefer refined comfort and full flexibility.

The changes come within days of Virgin Australia posting the second biggest annual loss in its history.
