Intrepid Global Summit: Will the company give staff bonuses?

At the Intrepid Global Summit, the brand’s co-founder and chair Darrell Wade and CCO Leigh Barnes hosted a panel where the golden question came up.

Will Intrepid give staff bonuses?

After Wade and Barnes engaged in a banterous folksy chat for attendees to enjoy, the two reflected on the beginning of COVID and its impact on the company, its people and how the company was going. The kicker of the talk came when Barnes asked the question. And after a bit of umming and ahhing from Wade, he finally gave everyone the answer they were looking for.

So what was it? YES! Intrepid will give staff bonuses.

But there’s a catch.

The company will offer shares as bonuses to its employees. The shares are valued at approximately AU$1.30 each.

However, due to complicated regulatory issues, not everyone in the company will be receiving them based on where they live.

Alongside this panel, the summit highlighted the success of Intrepid’s Premium range. In particular, Premium Japan was just about to become the wholesaler’s highest-grossing trips ever.

Intrepid will also be returning East Timor to its collection and introducing a “pretty epic trekking” range that the industry can expect to see go live this month.
