Hotel review: Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach

Hotel review: Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach

Check in:

Seamless and quick, although it is later in the evening. They take credit card imprint and ID. Underground parking is included and the concierge takes the ticket and validates it so it can be forgotten about. The usual cost is $25 overnight.

Room:

It’s an ocean front room, and it is worth selecting for clients. Room 622 is the second floor from the top, and has two angles from which to overlook Coogee beach, as well as a wide wrap around balcony.

Ambience:

The first thing you notice is the waves crashing. It’s not loud enough to bother but it’s soothing enough to help drift off to sleep. Located on one of the hills that pincer Coogee beach, it has great views. Even in winter. It may be raining and stormy but that only serves to justify a late check out.

Neighbourhood:

Coogee is around 20 minutes from Sydney CBD and is a quiter alternative to Bondi beach. It feels more understated and local than Sydney’s most glamorous beach. Concierge recommends the Living Room yoga school just around the corner for a class in the morning. They also partner with the school for MICE events.

Concierge can also point guests in the direction of insider spots for homewares, restaurants and clothes. These include The Dreamer Label and Lived in Coogee. You can also order a BBQ pack and take to the park across the road to start flaming lunch.
