Gala dinner awards recognise Magellan’s best

The Magellan Travel Group’s Annual Conference for 2016 wrapped up with a Black-tie dinner and glittering award ceremony at The Ballroom at The Hilton Auckland.

Master of Ceremonies, Catriona Rowntree was glamorous and all the crowd were decked out in Black-tie with a touch of Silver (Fern) in a nod to their Kiwi hosts.

Over 200 members and suppliers attended the evening, which was sponsored by Qantas Airways, American Airlines and The Travel Corporation, and saw awards presented to top sellers of the Groups’ major tour and wholesale partners.

The evening culminated with Magellan’s Achievement and Recognition Awards with:

Megan Hutton of Spencer Travel Eastside named Rising Star of the Year

Misha Treasure of Cathie Rice Travel in WA named Leisure Travel Consultant of the Year

and

Richard French of Platinum Travel Corporation in VIC and Jodie Shelton of Travel Centrew Bendigo in VIC named joint winners of the Corporate Travel Consultant of the Year Award.       

And in a tribute to his amazing 50 years in the Travel Industry and his constant support of the Group and its Members Gerd Wilmer of Landmark Travel received the True Spirt Award from Co-Founder and Director, Trevor Jones.

Megan, Misha, Richard, Jodie and Gerd will enjoy a luxury all expenses paid trip to Dubai generously  sponsored by Emirates Airlines and personally hosted by Magellan CEO, Andrew Macfarlane.
