The World Travel & Tourism Council has announced its winners of the Instagram campaign designed to help change perceptions of a career in the travel and tourism sector.

The campaign saw travel and tourism workers create a 15-second Instagram video explaining why they love working in the industry. The prize for first place was US$1,000, with runners up prizes of US$500 and US$250.

First place winner Georgia Woods was delighted and honoured to win, adding with a career in tourism, the opportunities are endless, rating the job satisfaction as being “life changing.”

A passionate travel and tourism employee, Cory Lee took out second place. When asked what he would say to anyone considering a career in travel and tourism, Lee said “I would tell them to go for it if travel and tourism really is their passion,” adding there is nothing better in the world than having a career that you love.

Schalken encourages people to seize the opportunity when considering a career in travel and tourism. “I’m sure everyone’s tired of seeing the #lovemyjob hashtag on all my social media accounts, but it’s true,” Schalken added.
