Cicada Lodge general manager Nikki Allison said, “The perception long held is that the NT can be a difficult place to visit…and for the travel industry, it can be a difficult place to sell. Planning an extended stay that requires travel between properties, negotiating the highways and iconic destinations of the NT and putting it all together, can be difficult."
Travellers flying in and out of Brisbane during the G20 Leaders Summit on November 15 and 16 can avoid expected traffic disruptions by using Brisbane’s Airtrain, which connects Brisbane Airport to Brisbane CBD, as well as the Gold Coast and suburbs.
Brisbane Airtrain is also offering a 10% discount for all online bookings, as well as discounts for groups of two or more, with prices starting from $27 for an online booking for two people to the city, with children under 14 able to travel for free when accompanied by an adult.
StreetSmart Australia and its restaurant partners are calling on other Aussies to help make a difference to homelessness this Christmas, by participating in new DineSmart campaign, which helps raise much-needed funds for local charities and refuges supporting the homeless.
Running from November 10 until December 31, restaurants participating in the campaign will ask patrons to add a $2 donation to their bill, which will then be donated to charity, an initiative that has raised over $2.4 million since its inception in 2003.
“Everyone can take part in DineSmart and make a valuable contribution – from simply organising your annual work Christmas party at a StreetSmart restaurant, to booking a table with a group of friends,” StreetSmart Australia’s CEO Adam Robinson said.
Patrons can see which restaurants are participating and make donations at any time to StreetSmart.
One&Only Hayman Island resort on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef will be hosting celebrity chef Sam Leong to host a series of dinners and chef master classes until December 1.
Guests will have the chance to enjoy an intimate Chef’s Table with Leong on November 28, which will involve a six-course degustation menu, while a range of interactive cooking classes are available on November 28 and 29.
Until December 1, Leong will be preparing signature dishes at Bamboo, the resort’s Asian restaurant, with the property offering special two and five-night packages to experience the fine dining and culinary activities during the period.
Unleashed Travel has launched a new ‘schoolies’ package for Komune Beach Club resort amidst travel bodies warning against school leavers making the trip, which offers a similar experience of night entertainment, bars, themed parties and beach activities on Keramas beach, without the dangers commonly associated with Kuta.
The newly launched 2015 Bali Grad Trip is hosted at an exclusively chartered resort one hour from Kuta, with 24/7 security, Unleashed Travel staff on call, and assistance by Red Frogs volunteers, while students cannot bring their own alcohol or drink shots, and only 17-18 year olds are allowed.
The all-inclusive package includes return airfares and transfers, seven nights’ accommodation, breakfast and dinners, from $1749 per person. For more information, visit www.unleashedtravel.com.au/trips/bali-schoolies.
