Campaign uncovers NZ behind Middle Earth

Campaign uncovers NZ behind Middle Earth
By admin

Australia will be the first country to be exposed to Tourism New Zealand’s latest campaign, which aims to capitalise on scenes of New Zealand in the guise of Middle Earth in the forthcoming Hobbit movie.

The latest 100% Pure New Zealand television and cinema commercial aims to demonstrate how the fantasy world of Middle Earth, as depicted in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, is in fact the reality of New Zealand.

Chief executive Kevin Bowler anticipated millions would watch the new trilogy, just as they had with the Lord of the Rings trio of movies.

“Our objective is to show people that while New Zealand stars as the fantasy world of Middle Earth, what people see in the cinema is actually a real place waiting to be explored,” he said. “Not only that, but you can have some amazing adventures and experiences within movie-like landscapes.”

He outlined the campaign’s primary aim as converting interesting into actual bookings with it to incorporate digital media, social media and public relations campaigns.

The campaign launches first in Australian on August 26, and will then be rolled out to the destination’s major tourism markets in September and October.
