Albanese set to announce visa changes to boost business travel between Indonesia and Australia
Foreign minister of Australia, Penny Wong, has welcomed the visit of Indonesia’s president to the country saying it will strengthen economic ties and boost business travel between the two nations on ABC RN this morning.

The news comes after the Indonesian government confirmed it will not reinstate visa-free travel for Bali-goers amid ongoing instances of poor behaviour by foreigners.

Wong also said that Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese will, “have more to say” on Australia’s visa system later today after issues around the level of difficulty some Indonesians face when trying to gain Australian visas by Patricia Karvelas.

“Things we’re focused on is how do we improve our economic ties,” Wong, said.

“Obviously, the nation is an increasing economic power and will be over the next decade.

“We want to make sure we’re partners in that.

So there will be a greater focus on the economy and the economic relationship.

You’ll see some big changes to make sure we make business travel easier.
