Brisbane Airport is experiencing a technical issue with its baggage system, leading to slower passenger check-in this morning.

It is believed an IT issue is causing problems for the baggage handling system.

Brisbane Airport Corporation spokesperson Stephen Beckett says technicians are currently working on the issue and that the Airport has reverted to manually handling baggage.

“We’ve called in extra people, and stood up our CARE Team in the terminal. While we are still able to manually accept checked-in baggage, check-in will be a slower than usual this morning.” he said.
