Stage and Screen welcomes government ‘Revive’ policy

Stage and Screen, the entertainment, arts, sport, and music travel company has welcomed the Federal Government’s ‘Revive’ policy which is aimed at funding the arts and culture sector.

General Manager Adam Moon said the sector had wiggled it way to the strongest position they’d ever been in and commended the $286 million investment over five years. He said the company is looking forward to working with its neighbours both home and away on new projects.

“The Australian screen industry has made its mark on the international stage as talented, innovative, creative, passionate and hardworking ready to take on tentpole hits, franchise and indie films, sci-fi television series, all the way through to animated family films,” Moon said.

“We’re delighted to have partners like Ausfilm who work hard to help filmmakers and studios find what they need in Australia to bring stories to life, not to mention on budget and on time. They’re the gateway to our screen sector and they guide the very best in the business to Australia’s shores.

“This investment from the Federal Government will go a long way to ensuring that Australia keeps its place on the world stage as a destination for Hollywood and stage shows alike – having attracted big pictures like Elvis and musicals like Moulin Rouge in recent times.”

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the policy was part of rebuilding Australia’s entertainment castle.

He said its aim was to bring drive, direction and vision back to the $17 billion industry which employs an estimated 400,000 Australians.

The backbone of the new announcement is the establishment of Creative Australia, the Government’s new principal arts investment and advisory body.

“After a decade of neglect and funding cuts, today we start a new chapter in Australia’s art and culture sector. ” Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said.
