Rome2rio appoints Bo Jing as head of product

Rome2rio has announced the appointment of Bo Jing, ex-Canva product lead as head of product.

In his new role, Jing will lead the product team and build solutions that will enable seamless experiences for Rome2rio’s millions of users.

One of his goals is to make it even easier and more fun for travellers to discover the best door-to-door way to get to their destinations, exploring all possible transport alternatives.

He is the latest appointment in a string of new hires at Rome2rio which has seen the business fill more than 35 tech and management roles in the last 12 months, with 23 of those in 2022.

HWBK to put Christchurch on the map with Aussie visitors

Creative communications agency History Will Be Kind (HWBK) has been appointed as the retained agency of record in Australia by ChristchurchNZ – the city’s economic development and promotions agency – following a competitive pitch process.

The HWBK team will showcase all that Christchurch has to offer, building destination awareness and driving visitation for Australian travellers to support the city’s post-pandemic recovery and beyond.

ChristchurchNZ Head of Tourism, Kath Low said the organisation was delighted to appoint HWBK to build Christchurch’s reputation as a world class city and the gateway to explore New Zealand’s South Island.

Alice Ager promoted to MD of Uniworld Australia and NZ

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has announced the promotion of Alice Ager (featured image) to managing director of Uniworld in Australia & NZ.

After four and a half years with the Travel Corporation, Ager comes with global experience in selling luxury travel brands such as Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Uniworld.

“This is a wonderful acknowledgement, and I am delighted to be leading our team through this critical re-build period. Thank you to Ellen and the TTC leadership under Brett Tollman, for giving me this amazing opportunity,” said Ager.

“I am excited to see this region reach its full potential with our trade partnerships after what we’ve all been through.”

Alma Resort Cam Ranh appoints homegrown talent as spa manager

Nguyen Thi Thanh Hang, a professional with more than 15 years of hospitality wellness experience, has been named spa manager at Alma Resort’s Le Spa.

Born and bred in nearby Nha Trang, Hang joins the 30-hectare resort’s Le Spa after five years as the spa manager at Vinpearl Resort & Spa Long Beach Nha Trang’s Akoya Spa.

Hang has won various awards throughout her career including ‘Best Spa Manager’ across the Vinpearl Group.
