NH Hotels unveils plans for first Australian property

NH Hotels has announced plans for its foray into the Australian market with the upcoming launch of NH Hotel Wollongong.

An Australian first for NH Hotel Group’s upscale and midscale brand, the new-build development is set for completion in Spring 2023 and will be located in Burelli Street in Wollongong’s rapidly transforming CBD.

The hotel will join an existing portfolio of over 243 NH Hotels properties globally, and is set to deliver 240 stylish and contemporary hotel rooms, state-of-the-art conference and event facilities, flexible working space, advanced technology and a fully-equipped gym.

The hotel’s restaurant and bar will offer all-day dining, serving a curated menu of international cuisine. Also offered will be the NH Hotels’ signature buffet breakfast.

Guests can opt for the light-filled indoor or alfresco dining spaces, or host functions in the private dining room.

Craig Hooley, chief operating officer for Minor Hotels in Australia and New Zealand, said: “We are pleased to be launching the trusted and reputable NH Hotels brand within Australia.

“A high-profile brand throughout Europe, Latin America and Africa, we are confident that NH Hotels’ easy-going, urban and fresh service offering will be very well-received in the Australian market.

“We were eager to launch NH Hotel in Wollongong due to the exciting overhaul of the city centre, which is currently taking place in line with Wollongong Council’s commitment to grow commercial office space by 120,000 square metres by 2036.

“Burelli Street is set to be transformed to a premium commercial street, with 10,500 new jobs expected to be created in the region.”
