Influencer couple tricks followers into thinking they’re having a European summer holiday

An Aussie influencer couple has managed to trick their followers into thinking they were enjoying a European summer holiday when, in reality, they hadn’t left the country.

Gold Coast couple Pia and Kane Muehlenbeck posted a series of photos on their Instagram accounts showing the two enjoying a picnic in a vineyard, flipping pizzas and enjoying croissants at a suspiciously French-looking cafe all with the hashtag #eurosammer.

Many Instagram users guessed Italy, but the tagged location gave it away: the couple were actually in South Australia.

The couple posted a video to YouTube revealing their plan to see if they can make their followers believe they were in Europe.

“Did you guess we were actually still in Australia from our Instagram posts? Create your own #eurosammer holiday at www.southaustralia.com,” the couple said in the video’s caption.

“Europe is one of our favourite holiday destinations – it’s where we got engaged!” the couple said in a statement.

“However, with international travel off the cards for some time, we wanted to prove you don’t have to leave the country to experience a European-inspired summer holiday.

“We want to draw attention to all the beautiful pockets of South Australia that mirror the incredible European landscapes –from hidden coves around Second Valley that mirror the coastlines of Amalfi Coast and Capri; to the vineyards of McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills that make you feel like you’re in Tuscany or the French vineyards of Bordeaux – and encourage Aussies to recreate their own European-inspired holiday right here in South Australia.”
