Corporate travel network on the hunt for agents

Pila, Italy - April 19, 2011: Uncle Sam's 1917 poster on laptop monitor. Uncle Sam is a personification of the American government used for the first time during the War of 1812. The poster was designed by J. M. Flagg in 1917, based on the original British Lord Kitchener poster of three years earlier and it was used to recruit soldiers for both World War I and World War II.

A corporate travel network with a presence in Australia and abroad is looking to capitalise on the rise of agents working from home as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Helloworld Business Travel member 1000 Mile Travel Group is hosting virtual inductions in the on-boarding of new agents over the lockdown period in Australia and the UK, including a special offer for start-up fees if signed up by 30 July.

Ben Ross, managing director of 100 Mile Travel Group, said: “We want to use this opportunity to reach out to those that are looking for a change in their environment – to the people in travel who have been the unfortunate victims of this crisis.

“1000 Mile is a business that provides you with structure and balance. We want to continue building our incredibly positive network of experts in travel that are ready to take the next leap in life.”

Nicola Veltman, executive director at 1000 Mile Travel Group, said the company’s use of high-end technology, paired with a start-up approach to the work-life balance, is advantageous for agents in such circumstances.

“We support our travel experts to convert their careers into their very own business where they make the calls, and if our formula is followed, success comes next,” she explained.

The company has been keeping its agents across Australia and the UK connected throughout the coronavirus pandemic with a live social stream on its website along with dedicated COVID-19 hubs.

The head office team at 1000 Mile Travel Group have also been checking in with agents via phone and webinars.

With the rebound of travel just around the corner, the company’s focus has been on hosting planning sessions to help agents reignite their business.
