Hawaiian Airlines’ female pilots drop their version of the #DontRushChallenge

The female pilots of Hawaiian Airlines are the latest to take on the #DontRushChallenge, and their version is simply glorious.

Travel Weekly cannot get enough of this challenge, which first drew our attention with the efforts of Emirates, Air New Zealand, and then Virgin Australia.

But now, a group of 54 women pilots from Hawaiian Airlines (one of the leading employers of female pilots in the world) have starred in arguably the best version of the #DontRushChallenge we’ve seen to date.

It was put together by captain Carrie Hironaka, and released just in time for Mother’s Day, with plenty of pilots performing alongside their children, kids (we mean goats), cats and dogs. Enjoy!

According to Women in Aviation International, a non-profit dedicated to the “encouragement and advancement” of women in aviation careers, just 7.9 per cent of all pilots are women.

Today, according to the non-profit, around 52,740 women are employed as pilots – an increase of at least 17,000 since 2000, when only three per cent of pilots were women.

Hawaiian Airlines boasts at least 3,515 women employees, at least 81 of who are pilots, and was the first airline in the world to fly an all-women crew in 1979.
