European cruise line’s ANZ expansion receives boost from CLIA

A-ROSA River Cruises has partnered with Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) as it mounts an expansion into Australian and New Zealand markets.

The partnership sees A-ROSA join CLIA Australasia as a river marketing affiliate in addition to its existing participation in CLIA’s Europe River Marketing Affiliate program.

A-ROSA operates European river cruises with a fleet of 12 vessels, exploring waterways including the Rhine, Danube, Rhône, Seine and Douro, and offering city and nature tours as well as curated themed itineraries.

The company recently established a sales and marketing presence in Australasia as part of its plans to increase its profile among Aussie and Kiwi travellers.

CLIA Australasia managing director Joel Katz (pictured above, left) said A-ROSA was a welcome addition to its regional community of river marketing affiliates.

“River cruising continues to be a dynamic and popular sector within the international cruise industry and the Australasian region is one of its most significant markets,” Katz said.

“The addition of A-ROSA to the CLIA community in this region is a sign of the increasing diversity of river cruise options available to Australian and New Zealand travellers and the enormous opportunity this presents to travel agents.”

A-ROSA’s regional director for Australia and New Zealand, Birgit Eisbrenner (pictured above, right), said the company has been “absolutely delighted” by the positive response it has received from the trade since launching in Australia and New Zealand in October last year.

“Due to its flexible itineraries and relaxed onboard atmosphere, A-ROSA is the perfect choice for Australians and New Zealanders, and we look forward to growing the brand even further in Australasia,” she said.

“As a member of CLIA, we now have the perfect platform to engage with the very best cruise agents Australia and New Zealand have to offer, allowing us to showcase our superb product offering and establish further preferred partner agreements.

“We look forward to continuing our success in introducing more agents to our unique river cruise offering.”
