Wholesaler Wrap: Grab an extra night in the Orient with A&K, Grand American Adventures launches biggest-ever sale + MORE!
It’s sales galore in this week’s Wholesaler Wrap, which are a welcome consolation for Travel Weekly‘s editor, who already spent his monthly allowance on a box of Cadbury Twirl Caramilks.
Stay an extra night in the Orient with Abercrombie & Kent
For a limited time only, travellers can enjoy a complimentary extra night in their last evening’s accommodation for tailor-made or private journeys to Japan, China, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia or Laos.
“These regions are both ancient and strikingly modern, filled with diverse cultures and natural delights, places that constantly invite you to dig a little deeper,” Abercrombie & Kent said. “And the experts … are ready to help you uncover their hidden treasures.”
Grand American Adventures launches its biggest sale ever
Grand American Adventures (GAA) has launched its January sale with 25 per cent off departures for bookings through to 30 September 2020.
“Make 2020 the year your clients enjoy more of North America. Whether that’s spotting Grizzly bears in Denali National Park on the Alaskan Highlights tour or listening to Jazz guitar in New Orleans on the Deep South and Delta Blues Tour,” GAA said.
New 2020 brochures are also now available to order.
Small Group Touring Co. launches 2020 summer sale
To kick off the new year and new decade, Small Group Touring Co. has launched a 2020 summer sale, offering 10 per cent off across its entire range of small group tours.
These include tours throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, South America, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Highlights from some of Small Group’s 2020 itineraries include a traditional Bedouin lunch in the Wadi Rum, Jordan, cruising along the Kotor Bay on a day trip to Montenegro, and taking part in a historical D-Day tour by jeep in Normandy.
Save big on Explore’s epic sale
Explore is offering savings of up to 15 per cent on bookings made during its ‘epic’ January sale, which includes over 150 trips and over 400 departure dates.
These savings can be enjoyed on some of Explore’s best tours, including ‘Cycle Japan’, ‘South Africa’s Garden Route’ and ‘Highlights of Costa Rica’, among others.
But get in quick, as this offer ends 22 January 2020.
Fly free to Asia with Wendy Wu Tours
The festive holiday season may be over for another year, but you can keep your holiday going thanks to Wendy Wu Tours’ ‘Fly Free’ special to China and Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.
Whether you have always wanted to stand up close to the Terracotta Warriors, walk along the Great Wall, explore Kyoto, relax in an onsen or stand on the Bridge of Freedom at the DMZ there’s a tour to suit every type of traveller.
These include ‘Majestic Yangtze’, ‘Jewels of Japan’, ‘Glories of China’, ‘Scenic South Korea’, and ‘Treasures of Taiwan’.
Natural Habitat Adventures will offset travellers’ lives for a year for bookings on ‘Climate Change & the Wild World’ tours
Natural Habitat Adventures (NHA) will offset a year’s worth of carbon output for anyone who joins one of the 2020 trips from the company’s new 35th anniversary series, ‘Climate Change & the Wild World’.
Using a carbon calculator developed by UC Berkeley’s Cool Climate Network, NHA is taking a conservative measure by assuming a CO2 output of roughly 60 to 65 metric tonnes for its qualifying guests.
However, if a traveller books a Climate Change & the Wild World trip and believes their output exceeds Nat Hab’s estimations, the brand will offset them accordingly.
In order to achieve these offsets, NHA will invest in carbon credits in partnership with sustainability consultant South Pole.
The credits will then fund three community and conservation projects: the construction of wind farms in India, the distribution of fuel-efficient, electricity-generating cookstoves to households in Rwanda, and the development of a rain forest biodiversity corridor in Zimbabwe.
Save on Scandinavia with Beyond Travel
In celebration of Beyond Travel’s recently launched dedicated website for Scandinavia, the Australian company has released discounts of up to $700 per couple on its ‘Fabulous Scandinavia’ small group package.
Available if booked and deposited by 31 January, the savings will be enjoyed during the 10-day escorted tour, exploring Copenhagen to Stockholm with a mix of historic capitals and fjords.
Further highlights of the tour include visits to the Hanseatic city of Bergen, the Vøringsfossen Waterfall, and travelling across Hardanger Bridge, one of the longest suspension bridge spans in the world.
