Study: Which items are stolen the most at hotels?
A new study by Wellness Heaven has revealed which items are stolen the most at hotels, according to a pool of mostly European hoteliers, with a striking difference in theft behaviour observed between guests in four-star and five-star hotels.
A total of 634 hoteliers from four-star hotels and 523 from five-star hotels were surveyed to determine the behaviour of thieves depending on their wealth. As it turns out, the probability of high-quality TV sets being stolen in five-star hotels is nine times higher in comparison to the four-star segment.
Similarly, artworks are popular objects of desire in luxury hotels (5.5 times higher theft probability). Tablet computers and mattresses are also being stolen a lot more frequently in five-star hotels.
Here are the most common items stolen in hotels, according to a survey of 1,157 hoteliers by Wellness Heaven:
Aman to introduce individual wellness programs at Greece property
Greece is soon to become the fifth Aman destination to offer personalised Individual Wellness Immersions, with three multi-day programs to launch at Amanzoe on 1 April 2020.
Amanzoe’s Individual Wellness Immersions will last three nights or more and will include three different pathways: weight management and transformation, detox and cleansing, and mindfulness and stress management.
The announcement follows the success of multi-day Individual Wellness Immersions at Amanpuri in Thailand, Amanbagh in India, Amanoi in Vietnam, and Amanemu in Japan.
Industry body launches people with disability employment pilot program
An important industry-led initiative to deliver employment outcomes for people with disability in WA’s hospitality venues was launched at Crown Perth on Tuesday.
In recognition of the International Day of People with Disabilities, Deputy Premier Roger Cook MLA officially launched the Hospitality Disability Network of Western Australia (HDNWA) pilot program.
The program aims to “develop and foster a community of like-minded companies with a collective commitment to create job opportunities and pathways into employment for people with disability”.
Patron for International Day of People with Disability 2019 and three time Paralympic gold medallist, Kurt Fearnley AO, spoke at the launch and endorsed the HDNWA as a unique opportunity to support Western Australians living with a disability.
West Hotel Sydney taps into guests’ travel types to personalise hotel experiences
This summer West Hotel Sydney, Curio Collection by Hilton launches a curated program of tailored experiences as an on ongoing commitment to personalise the level of individual service for its guests. These new experiences include guided fitness mentoring, a pictorial journey of the city’s most photogenic locations, a crystal ritual, a virtual book-club, and live, bar-side cocktail infusions.
Upon check-in, guests are encouraged to complete The Curiosity Quiz, which will identify what type of traveller they are: Culturalist, Challenger, Pathfinder, Spiritualist and Epicurean. They will then be offered a carefully curated series of experiences and events that complement their travel type.

COMO Cocoa Island reopens in the Maldives
On 9 January 2020, COMO Cocoa Island — the multi-award-winning Maldivian private island resort in South Malé Atoll, a 40-minute speedboat ride from the international airport — will reopen to guests after a substantial renovation.

Amari Vogue Krabi has reopened following a major transformation program.

Fiji’s Luxe Jungle Resort, Qamea Resort & Spa, announces resort updates
World Resorts of Distinction (WRD) has confirmed that Qamea Resort and Spa will remain open for 2020 and 2021.
According to WRD, a decision has been made to keep the popular adults-only resort open for the next two years.
Qamea Resort and Spa is an intimate boutique resort catering to a maximum of 32 adults with only sixteen bures and royal beach houses with private pools, nestled among coconut palms and tropical gardens.
Under new ownership and management, the team at Qamea have implemented a number of updates this year to ensure the resort continues to create a luxury holiday experience for guests.
