Delta Air Lines has commenced an investigation into how an inflatable slide from one of its aircraft found its way onto a man’s front yard during a flight.
The large slide used for evacuation purposes is understood to have fallen from the sky while the plane was making its way from Paris to Boston earlier this week, with Massachusetts man Wenhan Huang discovering the object on his property while doing yard work, according to WCVB.
Huang said he soon realised the slide came from a plane when he noticed the word “Boeing” printed on the side of it.
The slide was eventually retrieved after police alerted the Federal Aviation Administration, WCVB reported.
In a statement to Travel Weekly, a Delta spokesperson said: “Delta is investigating an inflatable over-wing slide that was retrieved following an aircraft’s landing into Boston’s Logan Airport.
“The flight landed without incident and taxied to the gate under its own power.”
