Pilot suspended after attacking hotel employee

Lion Air has suspended one of its pilots after CCTV footage emerged of him attacking a hotel worker over creased laundry.

The pilot allegedly began his assault on a staff-member from a hotel in Surabaya, Indonesia, in late April, because his clothes were creased.

In footage aired by Indonesian news outlet Tribune Timurthe pilot is seen slowly approaching staff behind the front desk. The pilot then spreads his arms as if to show the hotel worker the state of his shirt.

After approaching the pilot, the hotel worker is then set upon and repeatedly slapped, as he cowers at the assault. While the assault continues, another hotel worker occupies the front desk.

The worker occupying the front desk is then approached by the pilot who seemingly asks the worker to inspect the shirt, as well.

The video ends with the pilot menacingly striking a hotel worker with a closed fist.

The footage has reportedly had more than one million views on social media, according to The Independent.

Lion Air has published a statement on social media confirming the pilot, known as AG, has been suspended from flying.

“Currently, Lion Air is still carrying out the process of collecting data, information and other information needed for the purposes of further investigation or investigation,” the statement reads.

“If the intended pilot (AG) is found guilty after the investigation decision is complete, Lion Air will give strict sanctions by dismissing the company.”
