“Apparently this is normal”: Hotel shamed by guest over putrid discovery

Marriott has been left red-faced after one of its guests shamed the hotel he was staying in via a video on social media.

Charles Ashwanden was staying at the Maxwell Hotel in New York City when he discovered that the tap water coming in his room was coming out a murky brown colour.

Ashwanden proceeded to name and shame the Marriott-owned hotel in a Twitter post, claiming he had received no apology for the issue, and linking the disgusting-coloured water to overnight sewage system repairs.

After his complaint was re-directed by NYC Sanitation, Maxwell Hotel sprung into action two hours later and responded with the following:
