Aurora Expeditions places new Global Head of Marketing and expands marketing and sales teams to keep up with rapid business growth and new ship launch

Aurora Expeditions has expanded its marketing and sales teams with six new appointments, as it prepares for a momentous year with the launch of the new state-of-the-art vessel, the Greg Mortimer, in October 2019.

Joining Aurora Expeditions with over 13-years’ marketing experience, Victoria Primrose has been appointed as Global Head of Marketing. Leading the company’s marketing strategy, Primrose’s background includes roles at several global companies, including Johnson & Johnson, Lindt and UK comparison site moneysupermarket.com.

Aurora Expeditions has also created three new roles within Victoria’s team to help drive awareness of the brand’s adventurous spirit and recruit the next generation of expeditioners.

Martha Behan joins Aurora Expeditions from Tourism Ireland as Consumer Marketing Executive, Alesa Matis from Globus family of brands as Sales & Marketing Coordinator, and Sary Oum from custom software development company Solentive as Digital Marketing Executive.

Gate 7 appoints Vanessa Fletcher as Visit California Director

Tourism marketing and PR agency, Gate 7, has appointed award-winning marketer Vanessa Fletcher as its new Visit California Director for Australia and New Zealand.

Fletcher joins Gate 7 from Contiki Holidays, where she was Marketing Director and Acting General Manager for Australia.

Her diverse travel marketing expertise spans content strategy and creation, media partnerships, B2B marketing, influencer marketing, events, PR, and digital performance. She has spearheaded successful trade marketing strategies with partners including Flight Centre, Helloworld Travel and STA Travel.

CLIA Appoints Adam Goldstein as Global Chair

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) announced its Board of Directors has appointed Adam M. Goldstein, Vice Chairman, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., as Global Chair, effective 1 January 2019.

Goldstein succeeds Arnold Donald, President and CEO, Carnival Corporation & plc. who served as CLIA Global Chairman since January 2017.

Atkins, who starts on the 14th of January, brings a proven track record of sales success in the small to mid-sized corporate travel market.

Atkins was previously the Regional Sales Manager for VIC, TAS, SA and WA at Flight Centre Business Travel where she was recognised as a high achieving Business Development Manager across all Flight Centre corporate brands in Australia each year from 2015 to 2018.

CLIA Australasia Appoints Communications Director

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia has announced the appointment of Jon Murrie as its new Communications Director.

Murrie will report to CLIA Managing Director Joel Katz and will be responsible for CLIA’s communications and PR strategy across Australasia.

A trained journalist with more than 25 years’ experience in the travel industry, Mr Murrie has managed public relations strategies and communications campaigns for organisations across the sector.

He was previously Managing Editor at Business Publishing Group, publisher of Travel Daily and Cruise Weekly, and prior to that was a Senior Consultant with MG Media Communications, a public relations agency specialising in travel and tourism.

Kocijan joins Evolution Travel Collective

After several weeks of speculation and intrigue, Ingrid Kocijan has announced she has joined Evolution Travel Collective (ETC) as the new general manager of brand, strategyand partnerships.

Kocijan joins the recently formed ‘brand and representation’ company after 15 years experience in previous roles across various global businesses including director of sales Australia / New Zealand (G Adventures) and commercial director and market manager (Rail
