Adam Armstrong officially takes the reins at Silversea

Adam Armstrong has officially taken up his position as Senior Vice President and Managing Director in Australia and New Zealand for Silversea Cruises.

And if that’s not a great excuse for a Thursday morning champagne party we don’t know what is.

Based in Silversea’s Sydney office, Adam will lead the future growth and development of Silversea in the region, taking the ultra-luxury cruise line to the next level during an exciting period of significant growth and investment.

“Silversea is a cruise line that I’ve known and respected since I joined the cruise industry almost 20 years ago,”  Armstrong said.

“I believe there is great opportunity to increase awareness of the Silversea brand and the number of guests that we attract from Australia and New Zealand – two of the fastest growing cruise markets in the world.

“I’m also looking forward to the arrival of Silver Muse, our flagship, which arrives in Australia and New Zealand this summer for the first time.

“We are bringing our brand new ship down for five cruises through January and February between Sydney and Auckland.  Then, next summer, Silver Muse will return for an extended four-month season.”

Originally from England, Adam has almost two decades of experience in the travel industry including commercial, product and strategy roles in the UK and Australia.

Having started his career at TUI Travel and the Carnival Corporation, Adam was most recently the Associate Vice President & Managing Director for Royal Caribbean in Australia & New Zealand.  Adam spent the last decade driving the growth and success of the Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises brands in the region – including the launch of Ovation of the Seas.

Silversea has announced the launch of two new vessels: Silver Moon, which is due to join the fleet in 2020, and Silver Dawn which is scheduled to be delivered in late 2021.
