Beds are burning: Casanova uses Tinder to find beds while travelling

Even the most shoe-strung backpacking adventures can leave us pressed for funds, but one man’s tactic for finding accommodation has set social media alight.

A 25-year-old Belgian traveller, Anthony Botta, has found online fame thanks to his Tinder conquests.

And if you’re not familiar with the online dating platform Tinder, let us give you a quick run down.

Essentially, the app allows you to ‘swipe right’, a.k.a. connect and chat with potentially love interests.

Some of these encounters may lead to long lasting, passionate relationships, while other connections are little more fleeting.

So how has Botta used this app to his beneift?

By finding women to “host” him for a night (or two) while he travels through a city.

Speaking to the Metro, Bottta said: “I [am] hosted only by ladies I matched on Tinder. Sometimes for the best, sometimes for the worst.”

He added: “I have ladies telling me “no, I live with my parents’, “no, I live with my boyfriend”…but what the f*** are you doing on Tinder if you live with your boyfriend?

“The ladies, at the end, just need to host me. They don’t need to be like supermodels, but a couple of times I couldn’t find a host, so I just thought I’ll match everyone.”

Botta has also begun documenting these conquests on his Instagram page, clocking up more than 4,162 followers.

He has even tried to start a hashtag: ‘#TheZebottaLife’.

Some of his followers have criticised his dating, leaving the comment: “Don’t judge other women’s apartments who open their home to you, when you are the random, loser, stranger off the internet who cant afford $20 for a f***ing hostel.”

According to The Sun, Botta’s exploits have taken him to eight countries and 21 cities, including Rome, Ibiza, Cologne and Krakow.

He’s had 3,000 matches on Tinder, and 21 hosts to date.
