AFTA inks huge partnership deal

Lovers.

It’s only January and already, companies are linking up for the winter and beyond.

The latest to hold hands and take a walk down Lovers Avenue?

AFTA and AccorHotels.

And yes, we’ll admit we’re being a tad indulgent there.

Nevertheless, AFTA has partnered with AccorHotels, whose portfolio includes Raffles, Sofitel, Fairmont, MGallery, Pullman and Swissôtel brands, and spans more than 525 hotels in over 72 countries.

According to the industry body, AFTA hopes the partnership will allow for an open exchange of ideas and knowledge sharing, which will benefit the wider travel agent community.

In 2017, AFTA launched AFTA Travel Trends and hopes to add invaluable accommodation data to the already comprehensive inbound, outbound and airline data detailed in the monthly report.

AFTA Chief Executive Jayson Westbury said: “AccorHotels has an incredible range of hotels on offer both here in Australia and across the globe.”

“Working closely with AccorHotels, AFTA will provide input and advice on the benefits of maintaining travel agents as a part of any distribution strategy. We are delighted to be partnering with AccorHotels in this way.”

As part of the partnership, AccorHotels will have a dedicated column in the AFTA @ Work monthly newsletter where it will update members on new developments and places of interest.

Simon McGrath, Chief Operating Officer for AccorHotels Pacific, added: “Being the largest operator of luxury and upscale hotels in Asia Pacific, it is important that we align ourselves with organisations that benefit this segment of our business, which is why we are delighted to be partnering with AFTA.

“We look forward to forging close ties throughout the year and updating the travel agent community on what we are doing in the luxury hotel space”.

To celebrate the launch of the partnership, AccorHotels is offering AFTA travel agent members 30 per cent off* the best available rate at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, Swissôtel Sydney, Novotel Rockford Darling Harbour and Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour on the night of the NTIA Awards 2018.
