Meet the Women in Travel: Flight Centre’s Olivia Tomlinson

To celebrate the illustrious Women in TravelTravel Weekly will sit down with 20 women of the Australian travel industry, to hear their stories of success, setbacks and female empowerment.

This time we talk to Flight Centre General Manager Olivia Tomlinson.

My two passions are business and travel

And my career combines both. I fell in love with travel from a young age and studied business related degrees. I love seeing my team develop and achieve something they didn’t think was possible.

And of course hearing how we’ve helped create lifelong memories for our customers.

I’m always faced with new goals and challenges

I ran an online chat business, learning how to manage, train and inspire the team while connecting with customers. It’s a successful business model, but it was challenging.

I’m now driven to help navigate Flight Centre through its next phase of becoming a world-class retailer.

This industry is full of inspiration

Flight Centre’s Kristill Loxton, an area leader, has been my guiding light.

She has a fierce passion for the company and her people, but also a strong business sense and customer focus.

Travel Weekly is proud to present the Women in Travel Awards held on 27 November at Doltone House Darling Island.

The awards night will be a gala cocktail party where we will also be announcing Travel Weekly’s Power List – recognising the 30 most influential women in the Australia travelscape.

More than just recognition, the Awards provide an opportunity for new business opportunities and network expansion, as well as a chance to learn from some of the most empowering and inspiring women in your industry.

Come along, gush over winners and finalists, and mingle with the industry’s best.
