Travellers to Tahiti now have a new source of inspiration

Six Australian and New Zealand social media influencers travelled across the South-Pacific last week as part of a unique promotion between Tahiti Tourisme and social media publishing company, Townske.

The aim of the tour was to develop inspirational content about the Islands of Tahiti; a first for Tahiti Tourisme looking to engage their travellers with the development of a new social media app.

The winners of the Townske competition that made up the tour group were tasked with producing social media guides highlighting French Polynesia’s food, culture, arts and nature. They were split into three groups –

First, the nature-lovers, traveling to Rangiroa in the Tuamotus to experience the natural wonders of the atoll, had the chance to visit a pearl farm, the island’s beautiful blue lagoon and swim with dolphins in Tiputa Pass.

The other social media influencers spent time in the Society Islands. One group traveled to Huahine to capture cultural highlights during an excursion to Mt Tapu and local archaeological sites; the others immersing themselves in Moorea’s burgeoning culinary scene.
