The latest Hotels.com Hotel Price Index (HPI)* has been released, revealing the ten holiday hubs around the world where Aussie travellers got five-star accommodation with a budget price tag.

And they’re not all where you’d expect!

But don’t worry – we won’t keep them shrouded in mystery!

Here are the top ten destinations around the world and the average price paid per night by Aussie traveller where you can get your own slice of hotel luxury without forking out (‘scuse the food puns).

For the sake of comparison, the HPI also revealed destinations where Australians paid the most for a night in a five-star hotel, with Cancun coming in at number one with the average price per night a sky high A$733.
