The water supply has been restored to Melbourne Airport’s main terminal after a burst pipe was fixed.

The water supply was cut early on Monday morning with no running water at the airport, Melbourne Airport communications manager Anna Gillett said.

Passengers took to social media to complain they couldn’t get coffee and were offered wet wipes to use in toilets in the early hours.

“Water supply is returning to the main terminal and work continues on supply to remaining areas,” the airport said in a statement shortly before 9am.

The water shortage hasn’t affected flights and it’s hoped full supply will be restored to the entire airport as quickly as possible, with terminal four still without running water.
