Who's on the list of the 25 most influential travel executives in 2014?

By admin

Corporate Travel Management founder and managing director, Jamie Pherous has been named as one of the world’s most influential industry executives and is the only Australian on the American-based BTN Group’s 2014 list.

New Zealand-based Darrin Grafton, ceo of Serko, was also amongst the 25 on the list, and is the first Kiwi to be recognised in the 31 years the awards have been presented.

The listing recognises achievements by the buyers, supplier executives, public officials and others who most influenced business and/or managed travel – in usually but not exclusively – positive ways, BTN stated.

Pherous and Grafton are amongst well-known industry heavyweights including Christopher Nassetta, ceo of Hilton Worldwide, Richard Anderson, ceo of Delta Air Lines, Travis Kalanick, ceo Uber, Steve Singh, co-founder and ceo of Concur, Mark Vondrasek, senior vp distribution, loyalty and partnerships at Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Arne Sorenson, ceo Marriott International, to name a few.

“It is very humbling to be included in this list, an achievement which would not have been possible without the wonderful CTM team I have behind me,’’ Pherous said.

Earlier this month CTM announced two major acquisitions – Chambers Travel in Europe and Diplomat Travel in USA for a combined $52.6 million.
