Mickey to lead 60-year diamond celebrations
By admin

In spring 2015, Disneyland Resort in California is set to launch a year long Diamond Celebration that will mark 60 years since Walt Disney first opened the doors of Disneyland in 1955, with a special celebration for its top international guest – Australia.

As a record of Australian guests journey to California to experience the fun of Disneyland, Australia has become the largest country outside North America to visit the park, with Walt Disney Parks & Resorts to bring part of the Diamond Celebration to Aussie shores.

“The planning is underway and our goal is to launch the festivities early 2015, so that guests can take part in official Diamond Celebration when they visit the park from Spring 2015,” Walt Disney Parks & Resorts director Lee Siefken said.

“Australians have a very special connection with Disneyland, as it brings out the child in all of us and helps us to create unforgettable memories we treasure forever.”

In addition to the exciting Diamond Celebration, Disney Cruise Line is returning to popular destinations for Australian travellers for limited-time engagements.

Two Hawaii cruises and a return to the West Coast with departures from San Diego are giving Australian and New Zealand visitors the chance to experience the cruise a little closer to home.

The cruise line will explore the Hawaiian Islands with two 10-night cruises in September 2015, where guests can experience the famous beaches of Waikiki on Oahu, see the views from the summit of Haleakala Crater on Maui, and witness the world’s most active volcano.

Additionally, Disney Cruise Line will return to the West Coast for a limited time, offering six cruises from San Diego aboard the Disney Wonder.
