Red Cross looking for overseas tourism volunteers

If you’ve ever wanted to take up a position that is at the same time life-changing and forward-thinking in terms of your career, then volunteering abroad is what you’re looking for.

While it can be one of the toughest jobs to adapt to, it can also be one of the most rewarding, and can take you anywhere in the world.

Red Cross is currently giving you this opportunity, seeking people with tourism and marketing experience for volunteer assignments overseas, offering a valuable chance to gain experience in humanitarian and development work.

Fully supported by Australian Red Cross, volunteers receive full support in terms of living allowances, airfares, insurance, health and security support, and training in your country, with the assignments part of the Australian Volunteers for International Development program.

Positions include a tourism planning and development adviser in Laos, to support the national tourism body to create a tourism strategy for provinces, and a marketing and communications mentor for tourism in Laos to support the staff in enhancing their communications, public relations and market research skills.

The assignments are currently online, with applications closing on Monday October 27.
