Malaysia Airlines has initiated a partnership with European train operator TGV to help fast-track Aussie holidaymakers to 19 French cities, made possible with a new joint booking service.

Launched as TGVAIR, the joint service allows passengers to book a flight and train ticket in one, providing more streamlined travel to and from all major French provinces via the Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport.

Customers check-in from the beginning of their journey to their final destination, whether leaving from Australia or returning from one of the included TGV stations.

Malaysia Airlines’ regional senior vice president PK Lee said the airline was excited to offer more flexibility and efficiency to customers.

“Those wanting to holiday in beautiful destinations across France no longer have to purchase their flight and train tickets separately or coordinate different modes of transport when travelling from Australia or returning home,” Lee said.

“TGVAIR keeps your trip simple and streamlined with one single ticket, offers a cheaper combined service and provides users with guaranteed support should either a train or flight be delayed.”

Malaysia Airlines operates the A380 service to Paris daily, with various French provinces integrated into the deal including Aix-en-Provence TGV, Angers-St-Laud, Montpellier, Marseille and Poitiers.
