A recent sales incentive in partnership with Celebrity Cruises has seen a surge in cruise sales for homebased travel group Travel Counsellors.

The group reported a a significant growth in cruise sales by 6.5% over the past month, with bookings made with Celebrity Cruises up over 100% on the same period last year.

The incetive saw over 1,300 Travel Counsellors across 8 countries competing in 32 teams against one another to win a special six night cruise on board Celebrity Infinity. Additional incentives for cruise bookings made during the period further boosted sales.

Travel Counsellors sales director Malcolm Hingley commented on the sales surge that new bookings included everything from new cruisers and family cruisers to river cruisers and the niche market cruiser.

Bookings for the group were already up by 17% year on year, prior to the cruise incentive.

“We have a very close working relationship with Celebrity Cruises so it was great to see our Travel Counsellors really get behind the product,” Hingley added.

Next month’s National Cruise Month will see the company implement a host of cruise based activities and incentives for agents with a further rise in cruise bookings expected during this period.

Building on the 16 year successful working relationship with Travel Counsellors, Celebrity Cruises dead of business development Michael English said “we were delighted to join forces for their recent international sales challenge. It was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen our relationship, and work more closely with the company’s agents from across the globe.”
