Is this Australia's ultimate internship?

Is this Australia's ultimate internship?
By admin

As the first semester of university wraps up, students across Australia are often urged to forgo travel plans and instead gain work experience during the break.

But Experience Oz has an idea that allows students to do both, with what is being dubbed ‘Australia’s Ultimate Internship’.

Students are given the chance to experience over 30 of Australia’s top attractions and activities across 3000kms of the east coast.

At the value of $20,000, the 14-day internship takes four students to Cairns, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Sydney and Melbourne, with accommodation, experiences, car hire, flights and most meals included.

Experience Oz’s business development manager Michelle Woodroff said the successful candidate will get to share their internship experience with three friends, showcasing their experiences on blogs, social media, and videos.

“The internship will include anything but sitting at a desk or running coffee errands, instead interns will be jet boating, hot air ballooning, snorkelling, exploring wildlife and visiting theme parks,” she said.

Applications are now open, and those looking to apply will need to submit a visual CV, providing their best travel photos and videos of their favourite landmarks or experiences in their own city.

Internships are highly competitive for the 2.1 million people studying at higher education institutions in Australia, with Woodroff encouraging applicants to get in fast.

Applications close on June 30, with successful candidates to be announced on July 1. The internship will take place from July 14, and entrants must be 18 years and over.

People can upload their visual résumé via the Experience Oz Facebook page, Instagram, Twitter or website.
