McGrath to depart Creative Holidays

McGrath to depart Creative Holidays

The managing director of Creative Holidays, Paul McGrath, has announced he will leave the company next month to pursue an opportunity outside the travel industry.

McGrath departs The Travel Corporation after 14 years with the company, during which time he has held various roles including the top role at Trafalgar.

During his time at Creative, he has plotted what has been described as the most critical transformation in the brand's 30-year history with the wholesaler to shift from the Calypso booking system to a web-based platform.

The new platform will feature a broader range of product, dynamic pricing and the ability for agents to dynamically package, allowing Creative to move into the online space to compete with a growing number of web players.

TTC Australia chief executive John Weeks paid tribute to McGrath’s achievements and his role in rethinking Creative's direction.

“One of Paul’s main priorities in the past 12 months has been to set a solid strategy for the future of Creative Holidays and that is now firmly in place,” he said. “The business is on track for continued growth and we thank Paul and the team for getting us to this stage.”

McGrath’s remains in place until November 15, when he will take on his new role as Global Head of Marketing and Brand with Lend Lease.

“Having held several senior roles with TTC in Australia, including MD of Creative Holidays and Trafalgar, I will truly miss my colleagues at TTC and across the entire industry,” McGrath said.

An announcement regarding his successor will be made once an appointment is finalized, TTC confirmed.
